Young Singer's Academy

New in 2021 will be the Young Singers’ Academy, beginning the week of February 8.  The Young Singers’ Academy is a six-week program where participants will receive weekly video lessons and materials via email.  These lessons can be used at their convenience and repeated as often as desired.  In addition to the six lessons, participants will join in three live zoom meetings for a group sing.  Designed for singers ages 8 and up, the video lessons will explore vocal production, note reading, rhythm skills, and musicianship through songs and activities.  This is a free program offered to all youth in Talbot County.

Singing 101

An adult course, Singing 101, will take place Thursdays February 11, 18, 25, and March 4 at 6pm, where we will answer the question “what does it take to be a singer?” In four sessions, participants will discover or perhaps re-visit techniques used in vocal music in studying proper breathing, pronunciation, voice types, and basic note reading. This course is perfect for those who wish to more intentionally use their voice or brush-up on technique. No experience is necessary to participate.  The four sessions will take place over Zoom and will be recorded for those unable to attend all four sessions. The fee for Singing 101 is $50.
